The Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for a full-time tenure track faculty appointment as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Public Health program effective August 16, 2021.  The program is a CEPH accredited four-year bachelors of Science degree program. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Health Sciences.

The program seeks an exceptional teacher as well as a promising scholar with a strong service record. A Ph.D. in Public Health, Health Behavior, Health Promotion, Health Education, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health Policy, Global Health, Population Health or related field, is required. Candidates with exceptional teaching experience at the undergraduate level, curriculum development, evidence of scholarly promise through publications and presentations, experience with health service research and a record of community and/or public engagement and evidence of collaboration are preferred.

The successful candidate should be qualified to teach any of the five core competencies of public health but should have a strong background in environmental health sciences, behavior theory and research methods. Successful candidates with expertise in any other public health areas of study are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is able to incorporate and address cultural competence and diversity perspectives throughout the curriculum and exhibit leadership potential.

Responsibilities include course development, teaching and advising students in the major, and working with Chair to coordinate the undergraduate program. It also includes publishing research in the public health disciplines, serving on departmental, college and University committees and providing services to the community. The position carries a 4/3 teaching load of upper- and lower-division required courses and is a 9-month position. Relocation is required.
