NYU Shanghai invites applications for a full-time clinical professor / professor of practice of finance to teach in its Master of Science program in Quantitative Finance (MSQF), jointly offered with the NYU Stern School of Business.

The appointment entails a teaching load of 2 courses per academic year at NYU Shanghai in addition to supervisory responsibilities for the MSQF capstone project program.

The ability to teach courses in Chinese financial markets (i.e., stock markets, bond markets, mutual fund and hedge fund industry, derivative markets, banking, etc.) is preferred.

The MSQF capstone project program is an experiential learning requirement that MSQF students must complete for graduation. In small groups, students are assigned to projects where they solve actual finance-related problems for real corporate clients applying skills learned in their coursework – for example, building a forecasting model, analyzing risk, recommending a capital structure, etc. Each project lasts around 6 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing projects from companies and guiding students in their work.

This position will be on a contract basis between 1 and 3 years, with the possibility of renewal. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a graduate or professional degree (MBA, PhD, or similar) as well as prior teaching or equivalent professional experience and an enthusiastic commitment to graduate business education. Candidates with deep experience relating to China are preferred.
