Development and delivery of professional business-grade presentations is a key area of focus. Additionally, students pursue business internships and learn to use writing and interviewing as a competitive asset in securing an opportunity. Students learn to conduct research, develop solutions, and develop recommendations that are delivered in formal business presentations. Other types of common business digital communication are also addressed in the course.

Service responsibilities undertaken by faculty in the FYIC and their home department could include developing and facilitating programmatic integration and enhanced programmatic efficacy; developing and maintaining teaching materials and resources shared by the FYIC and department; and/or providing support for one or more of the following: Visiting faculty teaching in the FYIC or Department, assessment of FYIC and other courses, e-learning, and career opportunities for students.

Required: Applicants must have earned a master’s degree for rank of Assistant Lecturer or doctorate for rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in a related field by the time of appointment.
