Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a Transfer Credit Evaluator (Student Services Program Coordinator I). Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Transfer Credit Evaluation, the Transfer Credit Evaluator performs a variety of technical and analytical duties involved in the assessment of transfer credit, including transcript data entry and course-to-course evaluation. The Transfer Credit Evaluator performs accurate evaluations of external, domestic credit for prospects, applicants, advisers, and faculty using current policies and procedures for awarding credit from other regionally accredited colleges/universities.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited: assisting with the management of credit evaluation, including transcript review, credit entry, research of accreditation and course descriptions, course to course evaluations, and faculty interaction to seek expert opinions for non-standard equivalencies; completes accurate and timely credit evaluation, as well as multiple, thorough record audits; marketing the University and transfer process and policies through multi-media channels, such as email, phone call/video conference, and chat/text, as well as in-person contact with prospective students and applicants; proactively counseling prospective students and two-year counterparts regarding transfer credits and articulation agreements; demonstrates a high standard of professionalism for the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards by providing high quality customer service to all University constituents; and performing other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is required.  One year of relevant work experience in an admissions operation, preferably transfer admission or academic advising in a two-year or four-year college or university setting is preferred. A successful candidate should possess the ability to operate an integrated student information system and general knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Ability to analyze academic credentials for academic credit. Ability to communicate verbally with individuals or groups, to perform detailed work, to discretely handle sensitive and confidential information, and to accurately apply academic policies and interpret those policies to students and the campus community. Able to sensitively adhere to the needs of all prospective students and communicate effectively with students, parents, and counselors.
