Speech-Language Pathology – to teach a range of undergraduate, MA and doctoral courses in the field of communication sciences and disorders, including coursework in our clinical doctorate (SLPD) program. Program need is for expertise in 1) neurogenic language disorders in adults; 2) motor based speech and voice disorders in children and adults; and 3) speech and hearing science and their application to clinical practice, but other areas may be considered. One position will require concentration in our doctoral program; these classes take place on weekday evenings. A robust research agenda, past and future, is highly desired. Demonstrated ability and experience in guiding student research and other duties associated with university faculty positions are preferable.

Qualifications : Doctoral degree (ex. SLPD, Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or the equivalent is required. CCC-SLP eligibility as well as eligibility for New Jersey State licensure; experience with university-level teaching; and an established research agenda is preferred. ABD candidates will be considered with completion date by September 1, 2021.

These are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective for the Fall 2021 semester. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in the Learning Management System, Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required, consistent with University guidelines. Kean may offer free voluntary Blackboard workshops to otherwise qualified applicants.
