The Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry and the WVU School of Medicine seek a Child Clinical Psychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of Child Clinical Psychology. The successful candidate will have a background in assessment and treatment of a wide range of interrelated biological, psychological and social problems experienced by children and adolescents. The position will include clinical, teaching/supervision, and research responsibilities. Regarding clinical duties, the candidate will have the opportunity to provide service delivery to infants, toddlers, children and adolescents displaying a variety of psychological, behavioral, developmental, academic, family, peer and health-related difficulties primarily in an outpatient setting. Additional opportunities to develop specialty clinics may exist, depending on interest and expertise.

In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The candidate will be involved in our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical psychology internship in our Behavioral Medicine Track, and our Child Psychiatry Fellowship. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates engage in research.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA-approved internship and be immediately eligible for licensure in West Virginia. Candidates who are not board certified / board eligible who possess extraordinary ability and demonstrated track-record may be considered at the discretion of the Chief Medical Officer. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, Board Certification (ABPP) as well as a demonstrated track record of leadership, clinical and teaching excellence and scholarly activity are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

WVU Medicine Children’s is a regional referral center for pediatric subspecialties and provides faculty direct access to highly advanced technology and comprehensive ancillary pediatric services. The new 150 bed Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion will have a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, epilepsy monitoring units, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital will include 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated cancer center. WVU is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Women’s Pavilion will house a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic.
