Assistant Scientist for the UF PHYSICS EFRC-M2QM Center (69802)

The Department of Physics at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, time-limited, twelve-month, non-tenure-accruing position at the rank of Assistant Scientist, beginning April 1, 2021. The successful candidate will be expected to work on the electronic and magnetic properties analysis of single-molecule magnets (SMMs) including spin-orbital couplings and anisotropy analysis and in quantum solutions to spin Hamiltonians via direct diagonalization and quantum simulations of spin dynamics. In addition, this position will support the PIs in leading a group of undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdocs who work on SMM-surface interactions. Is expected to lead an effort engaging junior members in the M2QM Center, EFRC newsletters, etc. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Physics or a closely related field and have postdoctoral research experience
