Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties:

The Systems Librarian provides leadership and expertise in order to develop and execute short- and long-term technology and web strategy in support of Olson Library and the Central Upper Peninsula Archives and contributes to the development and execution of the technology strategy in other offices within the Library and Instructional Support division. The Systems Librarian oversees major systems including the library management system shared with two additional universities and the archives management system. As a member of the library faculty, the Systems Librarian will participate in collection development and instruction related to assigned academic departments. Faculty are expected to engage in professional development and/or scholarship and service. This is a campus based position.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education:

Master's Degree

Discipline / Degree Area:

Library and/or Information Science from ALA-accredited institution or ALA-approved foreign equivalent

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

None

Required Minimum Work Experience:

Two years of professional experience in a relevant technological field.
Two years of experience working in libraries or higher education.
One year of supervisory experience.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Experience administering Ex Libris Alma or equivalent library system
Alma Administrator certification.
Experience teaching at the college/university level.
Experience using APIs
A second advanced degree
