About the College/Department:

Position Summary:
The Eastern Kentucky University's Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Social Work is seeking applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty member for its Social Work Program. An ideal candidate would bring the skills to teach in both our Online Masters of Social Work Program (MSW) as well as our traditional face-to-face Bachelors of Social Work Program. This is a 9-month position beginning August 2021. The online MSW program is a new degree program being developed at Eastern Kentucky University. The application for Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) candidacy is in process with full accreditation anticipated by 2023.

The online MSW program builds on the success of our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program, first accredited in 1977, and the online BSW program. We seek a candidate who is interested in developing an innovative, student-centered program in an academic environment that values a collaborative approach that integrates social work practice, theory, and research. Such a candidate will join a faculty that teaches and engages in ongoing social work scholarship and service to the profession and community consistent with University expectations for tenure-track faculty. In addition, an ideal candidate would bring skills that contribute to the building of the new Masters program as their majority contribution to service requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work
  • Two years of post-MSW practice experience
  • Excellent networking and professional communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in social work
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Experience with conducting and publishing research
