Job Description
The School of Nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applicants to apply for a full-time non-tenure-track, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing – FNP faculty position. This is a 9-month academic appointment with an opportunity for a stipend if teaching in the off-semester. Review of applications will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled.
Essential Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Primary teaching of hybrid nursing courses, conducting clinical experiences for FNP students on the Tyler campus.
- Assisting other classroom faculty as needed.
- Mentoring and advising students.
- Participating in College and University service.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate degree in Nursing.
- Board certified family nurse practitioner.
- Three (3) to five (5) years teaching experience.
- Eligible for licensure in Texas.
- Online teaching experience preferred.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
