Instruction and Online Learning Librarian
The Instruction and Online Learning Librarian develops and oversees the information literacy instruction programs and activities of Reed Library and creates the platforms necessary to allow online students access to information literacy and specialized instruction, library resources, and other Library services in an online environment.

- ALA accredited master's degree in library and/or information science or equivalent degree by date of hire
- Experience offering information literacy instruction
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of instruction technology, including development of digital learning objects
- Experience using learning management systems
- Experience providing research services in an academic environment
- Demonstrated organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success
- Familiarity with concepts and goals of information literacy
- Experience developing information literacy curricula and assessment programs
- Experience collaborating with others on instruction
- Experience offering liaison services to academic departments, including collection development and specialized instruction
Instruction Program & Information Literacy Coordination
- Provide oversight and direction of integrated instruction program
- Liaise with English department to determine how best to meet the needs and goals of the program
- Coordinate the collaboration of librarians and Composition instructors
- Create and maintain standardized instruction content and materials for COMP classes based on national standards/rubrics/frameworks for information literacy and specific FLC curricula
- Provide information literacy instruction for all or majority of100 level, 200 level & 300 level Composition courses
- Working with library liaisons and academic departments, help in the development of specialized library instruction for all subjects, as needed
- Coordinate and manage individual consultation program for COMP
- Train new librarians in the area of library instruction
- Create information literacy assessment plan to align with new Reed Library strategic plan
- Implement and monitor peer observation for information literacy instructors
- Assign instruction duties to librarians
- Maintain library instruction calendar
- Manage First Year Launch Librarian program
- Create and collaborate to make digital learning objects for the library instruction program as well as library services and resources using appropriate software
- Ensure library services meet standards for providing services to distance education students, including Amending, proposing, and developing new and continuing services aimed at better serving students enrolled in online courses and programs
- Utilize campus LMS, Canvas, to develop ways in which to integrate library instruction and resources into course modules across the curriculum
- Working with library liaisons, develop digital learning objects and multimedia for specialized instruction
- Create and maintain LibGuides
- Provide academic reference service in person, using chat and email, and through individual consultations
- Serve on Reference Team
- Serve on college-wide committees related to teaching and learning
- Serve as library liaison to assigned departments, including providing specialized instruction as needed
- Participate in collection development for academic departments as assigned
- Participate in and/or lead Reed Librarians Council, Budget Team, other library governance teams, campus committees, and Marmot Library Network committees as assigned
- Other duties as assigned

Salary is $51,500 plus a comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is in July 2021.
