The University of North Carolina Asheville Department of Management and Accountancy invites applications for a two-year Lecturer in Management to begin Fall 2021. The successful candidate will teach courses in Management Information Systems and other management courses as needed in the department. Preference will be given to those individuals with an academic background and research specializations in such areas as system analysis & design, decision support systems, data mining, and business analytics. The successful candidate should possess a Master’s degree or PhD in Management Information Systems or related discipline (e.g., Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Management). A candidate with a Master’s degree should have a professional background and teaching experience in MIS or related discipline. ABDs will also be considered. We expect this faculty member to engage in academic advising and participate in departmental, university, and disciplinary service to support both our department and university strategic plans. As an AACSB accredited program, we will give preference to candidates who have appropriate faculty qualifications commensurate with the Department’s guidelines that align with AACSB standards.

This commitment makes it essential for all faculty to be engaged in the current trends of their disciplines and this is demonstrated in the outstanding research and scholarship produced by the faculty.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 3-4 courses (12 contact hours) per semester; engage in service to the institution, the community and the profession; and ideally work with our students in some area of the discipline specific to their expertise. Individuals with a passion for undergraduate teaching and interest in a career at an institution focused on the liberal arts are strongly encouraged to apply .
