Director of Educational Engagement & Innovation

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Director of Educational Engagement & Innovation position.  Under the direction of the Vice President of the Pottstown Campus and Educational Partnerships, the Director of Educational Engagement and Innovation (the “Director) will be responsible for the management of all educational engagement programming for children from birth through high school. This role will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including Student Services, Academic Affairs, Cultural Affairs, Finance, Administration, Information Technology, MARCOM, and the Foundation, as well as external stakeholders, including school districts and educational and community partners. The primary responsibility of the Director is the supervision of all daily operations and implementation of the strategic direction of the Challenger Learning Center at Montco Pottstown, including marketing, staffing, fundraising, finances, and program delivery. In collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders, this role also serves as a liaison for all existing educational engagement programming for children and youth college wide, as well as the development and promotion of new strategic innovative educational engagement programming for children and youth at the College.

  

*This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to their start date. 

 

*Following Governor Wolf's announcement on March 30, the selected candidate will work remotely until further notice.  As the College re-opens the campuses, the selected candidate will transition to on-campus work. This position has college-wide responsibilities that require travel between campuses and to offsite locations. The primary office location is Pottstown Campus.  

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters or higher preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of operational, organizational, and management experience.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated ability in
    • Planning, organization, task completion, and decision-making
    • Managing multiple projects.
    • Working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work.
    • Working independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience with
    • Developing and overseeing budgets.
    • Marketing education programs to schools, families, and communities.
    • Fundraising, especially proposal development/grant writing.
    • Developing programs and curriculum.
    • Supervising and evaluating employees/volunteers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including
    • Delivering presentations to diverse groups.
    • Working well with organizations, staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of state K-12 and higher education standards.
