Summary: 

The Assistant Provost reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and provides leading and monitoring of all institutional quality, effectiveness, compliance, contracts, and assessment of operational and student learning activities, including predictive/actionable analytics and documentation of changes based on data. Manages an additional portfolio of academic projects. Serves as liaison with regional, national, and

discipline-specific accreditors as needed. Works closely with the registrar, institutional research, cabinet, executive leadership, IRB, and other internal and external constituencies. Other duties as assigned. This is a 12-month position. Stipend and release time is negotiable. Specific portfolio is negotiable depending on the strengths and experiences of the candidate. Start date is negotiable but anticipated as April 1, 2021.

Academic Project Manager

  • Serve as an academic project manager, as assigned.

 

Compliance

  • Ensures and documents college compliance of state, federal, and international accountability requirements, and all matters of institutional compliance.
  • Serves as an accreditation liaison officer (ALO) with MSCHE.
  • Serves as curricular liaison with NYSED.
  • Oversees all required reporting through the Office of Institutional Research.

 

Research and Grants

  • Partners with Faculty and other College administrators to ensure grant compliance.
  • Represents the Provost’s Office in all matters relevant to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process.

 

Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness

  • Leads annual assessment reporting to document college progress, institutional effectiveness, and academic assessment. Chronicles the programmatic improvements driven by data and organizes examples around the 2014 seven Middle States Commission on Higher Education Standards for Accreditation.
  • Supports, coordinates, and champions the Middle State Self Study process.
  • Leads the regular assessment of strategic initiatives to address and anticipate changes in strategic plans, performance plans, economic forecasts, occupational outlook, and/or student needs.
  • Assists the College in identifying and understanding emerging trends, strategies, and the significance of environmental changes to support college planning and development efforts.
  • Oversees and coordinates academic and institutional assessment efforts including the cyclical assessment of the general education.
  • Warehouses and distributes institutional data through Divisional and InstitutionalDashboards and other methods that offer decision support to Division Chairs, the Provost, Cabinet, and Board of Trustees.
  • Oversees the development of a method to democratize data, providing annual program data to faculty, department leaders, and the Cabinet, to draw conclusions and/or make recommendations for process improvement along with identifying program irregularities.
  • Interfaces with faculty, staff, and administration across the College to organize institutional planning and research support for student success initiatives.
  • Plans, schedules, budgets and creates activities related to assessment, accreditation, and grants.
  • Develops and monitors budgets and expenditures for areas of responsibility.
  • Thought partner with, and extends the reach of the Provost.
  • Thought partner with, and creates essential job function redundancy with the Associate Provost.
  • Assists in managing portions of the Academic Affairs budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. The successful candidate must possess demonstrated leadership experience, a high degree of emotional intelligence, and the ability to empathetically listen and develop emotional maturity and excellence in others throughout the College.
  2. Demonstrate abilities in analytical, written communication, and oral communication skills.
  3. Direct experience with compliance-related projects and manipulating large datasets is preferred.
  4. Proven ability to lead and manage projects.
  5. Ability to learn enterprise systems.
  6. Ability to work autonomously and in teams, within a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment. Appropriate faculty qualifications in a discipline offered at Keuka College is preferred.
  7. Plans, schedules, budgets and creates activities related to assessment, accreditation, and grants.
  8. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  9. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  10. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  11. Ability to provide exemplary customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional evening hours/weekends.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
