Xavier University has a new, exciting opportunity at its location in Columbus, Ohio. The University has recently expanded the Accelerated Bachelor in Science Program to students in Columbus and is hiring qualified candidates. The number of students continues to grow, as interest in the program is strong. The University is looking for a motivated financial aid professional to fill the role of the Financial Aid Advisor – for Accelerated Bachelor of Science Nursing (ABSN) students. The individual in this role assists in the administration of federal, state and institutional financial aid, reviews financial aid files, conducts needs analysis, financial aid packaging, Return to Title IV calculations, and federal verification. An individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail is preferred.

The successful candidate in the position will play an integral role in helping students in the ABSN program succeed. The Financial Aid Advisor will counsel students and parents over the phone, via email, as well as in person. The advisor will certify alternative loan applications, federal PLUS loan applications, and review/resolve any NSLDS issues.

The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for adhering to all appropriate processing policies and procedures and will perform other duties as assigned. Xavier currently has on-site labs and locations in Cincinnati as well as Columbus. The position will be located in Columbus but the individual will support all ABSN students who apply for financial aid.

Some travel required to Cincinnati each semester (initial training, once a month for training/staff meetings, and as needed).

Requirements:

  • Previous financial aid experience required, 1-3 years.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
