Job Summary/Basic Function

The State University of New York ( SUNY ) College at Canton and the Center for Criminal Justice, Intelligence & Cybersecurity invites qualified applicants for one full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor (other ranks considered) or full-time, Lecturer beginning August 2021. The Center for CJ, Intelligence & Cybersecurity offers seven 4-year degrees and one 2-year degree both online and in-person.

Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the Job

- Teach face-to-face, online and flex classes related to Criminal Investigations, Violent Crime Analysis, Investigation of Death, and Investigative Interviews
- Teach hands-on, applied, experiential material in upper and/or lower level classes
- Contribute to B.Tech. in Criminal Investigation, B.Tech. in CJ: Law Enforcement Leadership, and A.A.S. in CJ programs

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Tenure Track:
Ph.D. or other terminal degree in related field. ABD status in a terminal degree program meets requirements for Instructor rank. Related professional experience required. A J.D. is acceptable if accompanied by professional experience related to the applied focus of the position. Faculty will be expected to engage and be proficient in online course delivery, program and curriculum development and assessment, academic mentoring, scholarly activities and institutional service. Online and in-person teaching is expected with the ability to teach hands-on, applied courses.

Required Qualifications for Non-Tenured Track:
Master’s degree in related field and professional experience. Faculty will be expected to engage and be proficient in online course delivery, program and curriculum development and assessment, academic mentoring, and institutional service. Online and in-person teaching is expected with the ability to teach hands-on, applied courses.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have prior college level teaching experience in either the online or face-to-face environment.
