POSITION PURPOSE

 

Anoka Technical College is seeking a Dean of Academic Affairs. The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction to ensure comprehensive planning and management of academic programs that lead to student success.  The primary areas of focus include assessment of academic program effectiveness, working with faculty on curriculum development and revision, budget and resource development, program accreditation, course scheduling, hiring and evaluation of faculty.  This individual will also be responsible for directing the system initiatives of Equity 2030 in aiming to ensure equitable outcomes for students.

 

Other responsibilities include chairing or co-chairing college committees, as well as creating and supporting transfer agreements for students and promoting business connections to support academic programming.  All decisions must be made within the context of and in alignment with the mission, vision, values and goals of Anoka Technical College including the appropriate collective bargaining agreements, Minnesota State policies and procedures, State of Minnesota laws and statutes, and federal laws. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

        

  • Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multi-cultural and multi-racial community;
  • Demonstrated teaching and/or leadership/administrative experience in a post-secondary institution;
  • Demonstrated experience assessing student learning to achieve equitable outcomes;
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills sufficient to develop and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the technical college philosophy of preparing students for the workforce;
  • Master’s Degree

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Experience with or knowledge in utilizing proven strategies to eliminate the equity gap.
  • Two years of demonstrated teaching experience
  • Experience with industry partnerships
  • Knowledge of or experience working with organized labor agreements

 

SALARY

 

The salary range for an Administrator 5 under the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Administrator Plan is $75,216-$120,349.  The State of Minnesota offers qualified individuals an excellent benefits package including health insurance, optional dental, life insurance, disability plans, paid personal and sick leave, defined benefits and defined contribution (401 (a), retirement plans), optional 457 and 403 (b) retirement savings plans, and tuition waiver for employees and dependents.
