The Vehicle Autonomy and Intelligence Lab (https://vail.sice.indiana.edu/) at Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering has one open postdoctoral position starting as early as May, 2021.
Our team at Indiana University-Bloomington focuses on developing methodologies that enhance the autonomy and intelligence of robotic systems such as unmanned ground, aerial, and aquatic vehicles. The lab's current research interests include planning, learning, and coordination techniques for autonomous systems involving single or multiple robots with potential applications in environmental monitoring, search and rescue, smart transportation, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
(1) A PhD is required in CS/EE/ME/AE or equivalent
(2) Strong background in mathematical modeling and algorithm design
(3) Strong programming skills (C/C++, or at least python). Good knowledge of ROS
(4) Publications of planning, or learning, or coordination themed papers in recognized robotics/AI venues such as ICRA, IROS.
Knowledge of hardware systems is a plus. Particularly, project experiences on aerial, underwater, or ground vehicles (with good understanding on components such as perception, state estimation, control) will be a strong plus.

Appointment Type: Twelve-month full-time non-tenure track appointment with potential to be renewed for another year, subject to satisfactory performance and funding.
