The Committee on Ethnicity, Migration, Rights at Harvard University seeks applications for a Lecturer position in Latinx Studies with expertise in some combination of the following areas: comparative ethnic studies; intersections with Indigenous and Black studies; colonization and decolonization; migration and diaspora studies; and human rights. We are particularly interested in candidates whose courses would put multiple genres, disciplines, geographical areas, and/or historical periods in dialogue, situating ethnic, racial, and social dynamics in a transnational and global context.

The Lecturer will teach a 2:2 course load in a combination of lecture and seminar-style courses for primarily undergraduates. We are a growing program, and we seek a candidate who can actively contribute to the intellectual life and growth of EMR (including advising the graduate student Latinx Studies Working Group and undergraduate students interested in Latinx Studies).

The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2021. It is for three years, with the second and third year dependent on a satisfactory performance review in the first year. A doctorate in a related discipline is required by the time the appointment begins.

Required materials: Cover letter, c.v., teaching statement (including brief descriptions of proposed courses), and names of three recommenders —must be submitted online. Applications received by February 22, 2021 will receive full consideration.
