NATURE OF WORK: Middle Georgia State University is seeking a candidate for the tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Biology for the School of Arts and Sciences in the Department of Natural Sciences to begin Fall 2021 or Spring 2022.  This position involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening, lower level and/ or upper level biology courses.  One position is available at the Macon campus.  Travel to satellite campuses (Warner Robins) may sometimes be required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have a master’s or PhD (preferred) in a biological science or related area, with special attention given to the following areas of expertise: evolution, invertebrate or vertebrate zoology.  Candidates must have a record of teaching and the potential for scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant professor.  Candidate selected for employment will be subject to a background check.

SALARY: Commiserate with experience. Salary for 10 month contract is in the upper $40,000’s for an Assistant Professor rank.
