Maritime Lab Simulation Technician - Professional Expert
Within the Maritime Center the Maritime Lab Simulation Technician is responsible to oversee all information technology operations and maintenance of highly specialized maritime lab simulators; upgrade, replace, service projectors, operate simulator instructor/student station components; maintain service contracts; start up all simulation for courses and operate simulation as needed by instructors or tours; and provide administrative support to department as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Level 1: Entry to mid-level experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of experience in computer laboratory operations.
- Level 2: Advanced level experience. Additional specialized experience and knowledge in Maritime or similar simulator operations, including setup/startup, maintenance and hardware/software installation and updating.
Qualifications and Physical Demands
- Education, work experience and/or training in related job category is required, including valid licenses and/or certifications.
Conditions of Employment
This is a professional expert position. The District reserves the right to extend, modify, or eliminate this position based upon available funds. The effective dates of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
This is a recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill temporary/short-term assignments on an as-needed basis.
