Position Summary:

This position provides professional accounting and post- award services within the division of Hematology, Medical Oncology & Palliative Care in the Department of Medicine. This position is an advanced professional level position that performs accounting, budgeting, post- award management, financial analysis, internal control, and business process improvement responsibilities for the division. Many of these responsibilities are performed in close consultation with UWCCC fiscal staff and clinical research management, as well as DOM central finance office. This position provides leadership in the areas of mission-based coding, post- award administration, gift and endowment account management, school funds oversight, P-card administration and audit, E reimbursement oversight, and policy and procedure development and training.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field required. CPA preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Experience in working with complex automated accounting systems and processes required.
Three years of relevant experience is required.
Microsoft Office experience required.
Post-award Research Administration experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the principles and practices of governmental accounting, including federal grants and GAAP preferred.
Experience providing technical assistance to diverse audiences with a range of accounting backgrounds preferred.
Experience with Smartsheet, Tableau or similar software programs preferred.
