Position Summary:

The administrative director will provide administrative support to the research and education activities of the US Department of Energy's recently funded Center for Upcycling of Waste Plastics. CUWP is composed 7 universities (4 domestic universities, 2 Mexican universities and 1 Canadian university) 1 national laboratory and 8+ companies. This position will help with administrative and operational requirements in both research and education in CUWP.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

BS/BA Required

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum of one year experience in administration, preferably in an academic or research setting. Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent task management skills are essential. Experience with federal grant reporting, technical communications and event organization is a plus.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, willing to accept and initiate new projects, recognize opportunities, understand organization psychology, and practice a networked team-oriented work style. He or she will have the ability to focus and independently oversee and organize multiple projects simultaneously--some with tight deadlines, attention to detail with excellent time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills; positive and strong communication skills and independent problem solving skills.
