Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Middleware System Administrator to join the Information Technology department in Daytona Beach, Florida, or a teleworking arrangement. The position is responsible for technical systems management of core application systems. This includes all authentication directories, Oracle Fusion Middleware Systems, Database Systems, Enterprise Management Tools, and integration/interface processes for the corresponding application(s). The position is highly technical and directly impacts the daily operational functions of the above environment(s). This position will configure, administer, tune, and troubleshoot Oracle Fusion Middleware. The position will also lead the installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, optimization, and security posture of the corresponding application(s).

Qualifications

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills, working directly with customers to resolve and troubleshoot technical issues and requests.
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technology.
  • Ability to apply troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex, cross-functional issues.
  • Experience with the following Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies:
    • Oracle Weblogic & Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW
    • Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
    • Oracle Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
    • Oracle Business Process Management (BPM)
    • Oracle Identity Manager (OIM)
    • Oracle Access Manager (OAM)
    • Oracle Unified Directory (OUD)
    • Oracle Internet Directory (OID)
    • Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM-CC)
    • Oracle Web Center Content: Imaging Suite
    • Oracle HTTP Server (or Apache)
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and processes
  • Understanding of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Lightweight Directory Interchange Format (LDIF) files.
  • Understanding of Microsoft’s Active Directory (AD).
  • Experience using ITIL best practices for service and incident management.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall.
  • Experience with Linux scripting tools for automation (shell scripting, python, etc.)
  • Experience working with and administering Oracle Database, including Oracle RAC.
  • Experience hardening systems and software.
  • Solid understanding of SAML and/or Shibboleth federations using Oracle Identity Management Suite, or another similar system.

Preferred skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience working directly with customers to resolve complex technical issues, preferably with Oracle Database and/or Oracle Fusion Middleware solutions.
  • Oracle Certification(s), isc2 Certifications (SSCP, CISSP), or other relevant training/certification in Oracle Technologies and/or Cybersecurity.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • While a bachelor’s degree is preferred, a combination of education and relevant experience/certifications will be considered.
