Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to teach Electronics Engineering Technology in an ABET accredited program that is applied in nature. The candidate will also take a lead role in program development and assessment of the program of study.

Participate in instruction and evaluation; student advising; committee assignments; faculty meetings; consultation; in-service programs; preparation for teaching; professional and scholarly development; research; accreditation; teaching online and using distance education technologies; development of new courses; student recruitment and retention; and participate in economic and community engagement activities.

Instruction and evaluation; student advising; committee assignments; faculty meetings; consultation; in-service programs; preparation for teaching; professional and scholarly development; research; performs other appropriate duties as assigned and as necessary; prepares and delivers instruction in all formats and methodologies as assigned and as necessary; attends institutional events and represents work department, school or college at such events; assists in student recruiting process and events for institution and/or work unit; adheres to and complies with all relevant federal, state and local laws; abides by Board of Governors and HEPC policies and rules, as relevant and appropriate; if assigned a State purchasing card, abides by all purchasing rules and provisions and reports/balances account as required or directed; adheres to all institutional policies and guidelines, including the provisions of the employee's relevant employee handbook; adheres to and complies with relevant provisions of the WV State Ethics Act; adheres to the provisions of FERPA; follows, adheres to and abides by all established State and University travel policies; adheres to all safety rules and provisions; reports any personal accidents/injuries or accidents/injuries of assigned staff to HR by end of work day or work shift; acknowledges responsibility as a mandatory reporter and reports all incidents under Title IX and Title VII of the United States Code to the proper Fairmont State University personnel; abides by the employee-reporting provisions of the FMLA and ADA; completes all assigned employee training and completes all required performance evaluations timely, completely and accurately.

Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Engineering Technology, or closely related field (Doctoral degree preferred).

Successful completion of the FE exam preferred.
Candidates that do not have a terminal degree, must obtain a Professional Engineer license prior to year six (6) of their probationary period.

Demonstrated ability to teach electronics engineering technology from an applied perspective. Three (3) years professional experience for candidates without the terminal degree.
