The Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF) is seeking candidates for the Assistant Athletic Development Officer – Events and Stewardship (full-time, 12 month) position. This position will be responsible for cultivation and fundraising efforts of the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF). This position will also solicit contributions within and outside the greater Hampton Roads area in support of ODU Athletics. Additionally, this position is responsible for generating revenue from ODU Athletics special events including the management of administrative duties (i.e. planning, implementing, and evaluating special events and program activities for the ODAF including golf tournaments, banquets, socials, and pre-game events including home and away games). Additional duties include: sport enhancement fundraising responsibilities and travel planning for away football and basketball games. This position will also be responsible for all donor stewardship efforts on behalf of the ODAF.

Required Education: Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with experience that equates to a master’s degree.

Required Qualifications: Expertise with donor management software such as Millennium. Experience in athletic development or a related field. Experience with planning and implementing major athletics special events such as golf tournaments, banquets, and pre-game socials. Experience with communicating orally and in writing with a diverse public. Skill in supporting fundraising efforts through donor stewardship. Skill in supporting identified athletic programs through enhancement fundraising efforts. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate information about ODU Athletics to our constituents and plan and execute special events for ODAF. Ability to manage volunteers.
