Job Description or Duties: Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education—University of Nebraska at Kearney. Teach undergraduate/graduate courses in Mild/Moderate disabilities using distance technology as well as traditional format; program development across the K-12 experience; supervise student teaching and practicum experiences; advise undergraduate and graduate students; participate in departmental and college committees; conduct research in area of specialty; opportunity to sponsor student organizations.

 

Required Qualifications:             

 Earned doctorate in special education or related field (ABD will be considered if within one year of completion); three years of K-12 teaching experience with exceptionalities; evidence of potential for scholarly work.

 

Preferred Qualifications:             

A strong emphasis on assessment, social/personal instructional interventions, knowledge of inclusive practices, knowledge of methodology for individuals with disabilities across the K-12 experience, and current trends in special education; experience with students from diverse backgrounds; and evidence of positive impact on student learning. Experience teaching at the graduate level and online. Knowledge of or experience with accreditation.
