Position Summary:

Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for lecture and laboratory courses, assists with the design and execution of administrative functions associated with academic instruction and the development of pedagogy/andragogy or assessment tools and resources to support quality student learning. Serves as lead instructor of credit-bearing coursework using various formats including classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, as well as grading and student assessments.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Graduate degree (PhD preferred) in Food Science, Foodservice Administration, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Food Systems and Sustainability or related area; member of or demonstrated familiarity with The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Institute of Food Technology, Research Chefs Association, or National Association of College University Food Services is desired.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Demonstrated record of teaching undergraduate students in Food Manufacturing/Systems, Foodservice Administration or Dietetics in foodservice facilities is critical. Minimum 2 to 4 years of administrative experience in food-based industries including processing facilities, hospitals, schools, employee dining, or residence hall food services is desired.
