Assistant Professor of Teacher Education

Duties: teach courses in the MAT program (graduate level); advise students in the MAT program; teach other initial licensure courses at the ungraduated level as needed; supervise candidates in the Field Experiences to include internships and student teaching courses for MAT candidates; coordinate the collection of major assessments, which include overseeing the collection of assessments for adjuncts working with field experiences in the MAT program; opportunity for summer teaching may be available. This is a nine-month, tenure-track position. Applicants must have a commitment to and be able to demonstrate competency in collaboration, in teacher candidate academic advising, university service, teacher candidate supervision, recruitment and retention of teacher candidates and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: an earned doctorate in education (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) or related field from a regionally accredited institution; minimum three years teaching experience in higher education; minimum three years of experience in teaching in K-12 schools, TESS trained (or agree to training); proficiency in multiple teaching modalities; experience supervising or mentoring other teachers; proven track record of successful online teaching and advising of graduate students.  All SAU faculty and staff demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and diversity of the University community and excellence in interpersonal behaviors and effective collaboration with colleagues.  Joining the SAU family requires a commitment to our culture of Continuous Quality Improvement.
