Job Details
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Swarthmore College invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Sociology starting in the fall of 2021.
We seek applicants who specialize in critical race theory, race
in a global context, and/or global black communities.
They will be responsible for teaching 4 courses a year, one of
which may include advising senior theses. Teaching responsibilities
may include “Introduction to Race & Ethnicity in the United
States” and “Introduction to Black Studies” for the
interdisciplinary program in Black Studies. The successful
candidate will also be a member of the steering committee for the
program in Black Studies.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in sociology in hand by August 2021, an exciting research agenda, and dedication to teaching undergraduate students in a liberal arts context.
