The Department of Social Work at the University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor. A Ph.D. in Social Work or a related field is required (ABD will be considered). Also required is an MSW from a CSWE-accredited institution, with at least two years of post-MSW practice experience. Masters level license-eligible/licensed preferred. Experience teaching graduate courses online is strongly preferred, as well as ability to teach in-person courses as needed.
Duties of the position include teaching in the online MSW
program, conducting research/scholarly activities, and student
mentoring/advisement responsibilities. Additional duties include
maintaining office hours in accordance with University policy,
serving on Department, College, and University committees,
functioning as a liaison between the Department of Social Work and
the community, and performing other tasks essential to the
Department.
Instructional areas may include courses in research and statistics,
human behavior in the social environment, social welfare policy,
all levels of social work practice, and other courses as assigned
by the Department Chair.
