Job Summary

The Assistant Professor, Environmental Science and Sustainable Agriculture will teach both environmental science and sustainable agriculture undergraduate courses, serve on college, division, program and department committees and will assist the Chair or Dean in the exercise of their duties. The person in this position will attend and participate in professional development opportunities, collaborate with faculty, staff and stakeholders from across the college and the community, provide support for both adjunct and full-time colleagues in the form of consultation and cooperation, contribute to regular program planning and evaluation, and contribute to department student learning outcomes assessment.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in agroecology, food systems or a sustainable agriculture related field OR a master's degree in environmental science or related field OR a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in environmental science, agroecology, food systems or a sustainable agriculture field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Undergraduate teaching experience or equivalent
Sustainable farming or sustainable agriculture related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Curriculum planning experience
Community college teaching experience
