Job Summary

Motorcycle Range Aides work under the supervision of the Motorcycle Rider Coaches during two-day rider training at JCCC. They assist with set-up of the riding course, motorcycle transport, range supplies and demonstration of riding exercises.

Description of duties:

Set up all needs relating to riding course - set up prior to course start, adjusted throughout lessons to accommodate training needs, course breakdown after lessons and transport of supplies via golf cart to and from storage.

Ensure supplies are available throughout the day - motorcycles and helmets are on range site prior to start of lessons, ice and water are stocked and available to students/staff throughout the lessons, motorcycles have gas/air and are returned to storage at the end of the day, clean equipment and store appropriately.

If the Motorcycle Range Aide holds a current motorcycle license, may assist in demonstrations - assist instructors in riding the training course to enhance student knowledge and assist instructors in identifying potential riding hazards on the course and/or with students.

Required Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
Ability to abide by the MSF's Rider Coach Rules of Professional Conduct, including wearing protective gear en route to, from and during class (if operating a JCCC or personal motorcycle).
Ability to stand for 8 or more hours continually
Ability to successfully demonstrate driving, manipulation of vehicle tools and equipment, safety
Ability to judge spatial relationships to ensure safety while driving
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interpret and relay information clearly
Ability to speak loudly to overcome surrounding noise
Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

Current valid motorcycle license
2 or more years riding experience
