Job Description:

Fairfield University’s Accounting Department invites applications for a non-tenure track Professor of the Practice position in the Dolan School of Business to begin Fall 2021. The successful candidate will teach eight courses per year, generally four courses per semester, and will be expected to advise and mentor students, actively contribute to committees and participate in meetings of the department, business school, and university as requested, and work in a collaborative manner with colleagues.

Requirements: Professional certification in accounting together with recent (within the previous 5 years) and significant practice experience are required. The successful candidate will: be expected to have educational preparation beyond the baccalaureate level (e.g., a master's degree); be an innovative, passionate teacher; provide evidence of excellence in using technology in the classroom; and demonstrate a willingness to provide service to the department, school and the university. Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to teach a wide variety of courses and to candidates available to teach day, evening and weekend classes throughout the year. Practice experience in cost/managerial accounting, internal auditing and/or analytics is a strong plus.
