Marian University, a Catholic, comprehensive, regional institution of higher learning is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Finance and Accounting whose vision, mission and values are consistent with those of Marian University.  The AVP will work alongside the Senior Vice President and CFO to provide executive financial and operational leadership to a rapidly growing educational community as well as responsibility for supervising several professional staff members. 

 

The position is responsible for the production and oversight of the University’s financials, including budget preparation and management, long-term financial projections, pro-forma development, financial analyses, cost and revenue analyses, metric development and reporting, financial compliance, audit, financial policies and procedures, and all financial reporting. The AVP will be the delegated financial leader in the absence of the Senior VP and CFO. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

Gives witness to the faith and values of the Marian University Community Oversees audits Tax preparation and compliance Negotiates contracts and services Preparation of the annual budget Collaborates with multiple academic departments, offices, committees, consultants, etc… Works closely with the Sr. VP/CFO in achieving and evaluating critical initiatives Presents budgetary and financial information to the organization. Project Real Cost and other university financial analytics Develops scenario planning models. Maintains internal controls. Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior VP/CFO Willingness to expand into non-traditional, non-finance areas such as; human resources, technology, facilities and operations.  Qualifications: 

  • BS or BA in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant required
  • Financial leadership experience, preferably with some in higher education.
