The College of Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for two positions of Assistant Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics and Engineering Science beginning August 2021.

We are seeking physicists who can contribute significantly to the development of the curriculum and future direction of the Physics and Engineering Science department. Specifically, experimental physicists are preferred. Applicants should be teacher-scholars with interest in current physics teaching pedagogies and should have plans to establish undergraduate research agendas. Along with an ability to teach traditional upper-level courses in their areas, preferred candidates will also have the ability to teach some introductory physics courses. Start-up funds will be available to establish a research agenda that incorporates undergraduate students. The university’s Smith Science building underwent a $6.5 million renovation completed in 2017 that included over 1,600 square feet of shared research space.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or a related discipline with a strong background in physics either an additional master’s degree or relevant.
