Overview
The Faculty of Arts and Science is seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to join the team. This individual will lead the payroll team to deliver consistent and accurate payroll outcomes for Arts & Science academic populations. Oversee payroll planning and processing and resolve complex payroll/fiscal related matters for Arts & Science administration and departments, programs, and centers. Develop strategies to meet goals and standards for payroll customer service. Establish and monitor personnel budgets and resolve budget issues in collaboration with fiscal colleagues. Interpret and implement University policies and union agreements as related to faculty, researchers, adjuncts and students. Implement systems to supervise, track and maintain payroll (Workday) transaction information. Serve as liaison between Arts & Science departments and the Office of Academic Appointments, Controller's Division (SPA), and Student Employment to resolve payroll issues.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and
Required Experience:
5-7 years' financial management or payroll systems experience. Must include experience analyzing and planning budgets/financial systems.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic environment. Experience in payroll operations.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to develop, implement and communicate policies and procedures. Familiarity with windows-based software. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Workday, UDW, Arts & Science systems experience.Qualifications
