Landmark College is a unique, accredited college for bright neurodivergent students with learning differences (LD, including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges).   Landmark provides an intentionally designed, resource-rich academic and student life model within a private liberal arts college environment.  A position with Landmark College is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of promising college students and to help us change how the public thinks about education.

The College seeks a Dean of Liberal Studies and the Arts who will ensure integrity, effectiveness, and sustainability of academic degree programs, departments, services, and curricula within the School.  Through close collaboration with the VP of Academic Affairs and others on the academic leadership team, the Dean is expected to champion development and assessment of new and refined programs and facilitate relevant strategic priorities for the College. In addition, the College is actively working to endow this position to serve as its Academic Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as part of the College’s strategic priority to provide an environment that builds and supports an increasingly diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. In this role, the Dean will help drive programmatic advances in these important areas and work collaboratively with the Centers for Diversity and Inclusion and the College-wide Diversity and Inclusion Committee to involve faculty, students, and staff in a focused effort to strengthen our inclusive college environment.

The Dean is a full time 12-month administrative staff position qualified to hold, minimally, Associate Professor rank. It is expected that the Dean’s scholarship will be in a discipline related to the School’s departments (social sciences, humanities, literature, studio arts, and performing arts), and ideally also related to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Dean will be expected to teach at least one course per year.  Qualifications include a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a field affiliated with liberal studies and the arts; experience with higher education diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; and an understanding of learning differences due to neurodiversity.

Landmark College, located in beautiful southeastern Vermont, provides an engaged and inclusive college community, and offers competitive wages and an excellent benefits package.  Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, CV, pedagogical statement, administrative statement, statement about diversity, and full contact information for three references (references will not be checked until finalist stage) to the Director of Human Resources: humanresources@landmark.edu.

Landmark College is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).  Individuals, regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or veteran status, are encouraged to apply.
