Landmark College is a unique, accredited college for bright neurodivergent students with learning differences (LD; including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges).   Landmark provides an intentionally designed, resource-rich academic and student life model within a private liberal arts college environment.  A position with Landmark College is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of promising college students and to help us change how the public thinks about education.

This is an exciting and dynamic time for the School of Professional Studies and Science at Landmark College.  The School recently added two new bachelor’s degrees and has seen a considerable investment in facilities, including a new STEM center, the development of Idea Lab maker spaces, a Mini Media lab, and a new TV studio. This investment has sparked several innovations in curriculum delivery and a growing interest in faculty-student research and related activities. The College seeks a Dean of Professional Studies and Science who will inspire entrepreneurship and innovations while also ensuring the integrity, effectiveness, and sustainability of the academic degree programs, departments, services, and curricula within the School.

Through close collaboration with the VP of Academic Affairs and others on the academic leadership team, the Dean is expected to champion development and assessment of new and refined programs and facilitate relevant strategic priorities for the College. Working closely with the office of Career Connections, the Dean will also help the College meet its strategic priority to build capacity and support for pedagogical models and experiential learning opportunities that are driven by innovation in teaching/learning and enhanced through strategic partnerships with researchers, businesses, alumni, and stakeholder communities. The Dean should be adept at working both online and in person.

The Dean is a full time 12-month administrative staff position qualified to hold, minimally, Associate Professor rank. It is expected that the Dean’s scholarship will be in a discipline related to the School’s departments (communication, business, media studies, computer science, math, natural science), and will have a strong track record of organizational communication, project management, and strategic partnership development. The ideal candidate will be an active listener who is effective at team building and change management. The Dean will be expected to teach at least one course per year.  Qualifications include a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a field affiliated with professional studies and science and an understanding of learning differences due to neurodiversity.

Landmark College, located in beautiful southeastern Vermont, provides an engaged and inclusive college community, and offers competitive wages and an excellent benefits package.  Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, CV, pedagogical statement, administrative statement, statement about diversity, and full contact information for three references (references will not be checked until finalist stage) to the Director of Human Resources: humanresources@landmark.edu.

Landmark College is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).  Individuals, regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or veteran status, are encouraged to apply.
