College of Business

The Position:  The College of Business is searching for a Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Business and Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies to start in August 2021.  

Minimum Qualifications:  The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a doctorate in a business discipline or a directly-related field from an accredited business school.  Previous administrative experience as a coordinator or director of an existing graduate program in business is also preferred. 

Preferred Qualifications:  Evidence of scholarly and administrative accomplishments involving online graduate program development and growth in graduate student outreach and initiatives, including working with diverse faculty, is highly desirable.

Faculty Responsibilities:  This position carries responsibilities in college administration, teaching, scholarship, and service.  Faculty members typically teach four sections per semester, advise students, serve on university and college committees and engage in professional development activities.  Teaching assignments will align with the qualifications of the individual and the needs of the college. This position must qualify as Scholarly Academic under AACSB standards.

Administrative Responsibilities: The Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies provides leadership in all issues pertinent to graduate business education. The particular duties are to (a) ensure the admission of highly qualified and diverse business graduate students, (b) ensure that the College of Business online graduate program delivers an innovative and forward-looking curriculum that meets the highest standards of academic excellence, makes a positive societal impact, and confirms its success through robust program assessment, (c) represent business graduate education to external stakeholders, (d) oversee the development and implementation of graduate assistantships, (e) develop college graduate enrollment and marketing plans consistent with the university and college’s strategy, (f) oversee and manage graduate online course development, quality, and instruction, and (g) perform other duties as assigned by the college dean.  

Salary:  Salary commensurate with education and experience.

The College:  The College of Business offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with seven emphasis areas:  Accounting, Financial Services, Health Care Management, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, IT Management, and Management/Marketing.  The college also offers a fully online Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration.  The graduate program includes an online Master of Science in Management program and is currently seeking approval of a fully online Master of Business Administration program. The primary focus of Lander University is teaching, and the College of Business emphasizes a student-centered learning environment.  The College of Business is AACSB accredited. The University offers an excellent benefits package.  The college and university support scholarship through research incentive programs, professional and pedagogical travel support, access to databases, and professional development funds.  Lander University is located in Greenwood, South Carolina, in the Piedmont region, which is only two to four hours from the beautiful South Carolina beaches or the Blue Ridge Mountains.
