Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and
master’s level courses including physiological psychology,
biological bases of behavior, and courses in the faculty member’s
area of specialization; establish an active research program;
direct undergraduate and graduate theses; engage in service
activities at the department, college, and university levels.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Psychology. The Ph.D. must be completed by the date of
appointment (ABDs with a documentation plan of completion by
appointment date will be considered). Candidates must be able to
teach courses in biopsychology and must provide evidence of
excellence in teaching, the ability to establish an active research
program, and the interest and ability to involve undergraduate and
master’s level graduate students in their research as well as to
direct undergraduate research projects and graduate theses.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who can make use of our
departmental psychophysiology research lab that currently includes
multichannel systems that can handle bioelectrical signals (e.g.
heart rate, EEG, EMG, skin conductance, etc.) as well as
bioamplifiers for electroencephalography, electromyography, and
electroculography.
