Duties will include developing a strong extramurally funded research program in an area broadly related to microbial cell biology including but not limited to parasitology, microbial host-pathogen interactions, immunology, eukaryotic microbiology, environmental microbiology, structure/function studies, fundamental processes, and/or genetics/epigenetics research. Applicants using quantitative techniques and “omics” approaches are also welcome. The incumbent will also be expected to develop a successful teaching program that includes teaching one undergraduate course in cell biology. The faculty member will participate actively in graduate education by chairing graduate committees, serving on graduate committees, supervising thesis and dissertation research, supervising undergraduate research, and publishing the results with their graduate students.
