Job Summary

Directs all matters related to health services including direct patient care, budgetary distributions, management of nursing and clerical staff, facilitation of staff development, purchasing and distribution of health office supplies, and implementation of health related educational programs and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinates referrals to community resources, provides medical and legal updates, evaluates services, verifies
• RN licensing, and trains nursing personnel
• Performs hands on acute, urgent and emergency nursing care of students, employees, and visitors
• Manages the health services budget and maintains inventory of health care supplies and emergency supplies
• Serves on the emergency management and safety committees. Maintains campus AEDs and emergency evacuation equipment
• Initiates worker’s compensation claims and processes related documents
• Coordinates and plans health education events for students, faculty, and staff
• Coordinates referrals to community resources
• Provides health counseling and guidance to students, faculty, and staff
• Coordinates health screening programs
• Promotes student health and wellness to enhance educational experience Develops and implements policies and procedures for health services Interviews, recommends, hires, trains and orients new nursing staff
• Maintains supervisory responsibilities for Registered Nursing staff, clerical staff, and students; conducts staff meetings and provides staff development for nurses and clerical staff
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Texas or a compact state (an RN holding a compact license in another state must obtain Texas licensure within 90 days of hire)
• Health Care Provider CPR Certification
• Five (5) years of experience that reflect the duties and responsibilities of the position

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Experience working with computerized systems
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
