The VPAA is the chief academic officer of the university and supports and engages within Clarke’s shared governance system by serving on the president’s cabinet and working university-wide with faculty and staff on issues of academic leadership, curriculum and professional development, personnel management, and budget planning and fiscal management. The VPAA is a vital and visible contributor and communicator to diverse internal and external audiences and possesses an appreciation and an enthusiasm for the value and fit of cocurricular programs like the cultural arts, intercollegiate athletics, community service, and leadership development.
