Job Summary
Inspect, repair, install and maintain plumbing related fixtures and equipment on campus. Perform skilled plumbing work to maintain effective operation and proper functionality. Supervise, train, and oversee plumbing repairs of all general maintenance workers to take action on preventative work ensuring compliance standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Maintain inventory as to eliminate down time in production
  • Select materials and equipment at competitive prices
  • Prepare daily log sheets accounting for full work schedule (all tasks accomplished by employee for that specific day)
  • Penmanship and accuracy are important aspects of this function.
  • Train all Department of University Housing general maintenance workers relating to plumbing requirements and knowledge needed with their scope of repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain, repair, and clean tools, equipment and work areas
  • Keep assigned service vehicle clean and organized
  • Responsible for installation, repair, and replacement of all plumbing fixtures and equipment (i.e., lavatories, toilets, sinks, showers, tub, disposals, drinking fountains)
  • Repair or replace supporting water mains, pipes, and valve for entire system in accordance with Standard Plumbing Codes
  • Repair pumps or other supporting equipment in fire equipment in fire equipment rooms and kitchens
  • Submit daily report of materials used and time spent on plumbing projects
  • Assist and oversee work requirements of Plumbing Contractors working within Department of University Housing buildings in maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and service entrances
  • Respond to emergency plumbing related calls and utility failures
  • Assist as needed with overhauling and servicing refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems
  • Locate underground utilities both electronically and manually

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
  • Two (2) or more years of related work - experience

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • General mechanical maintenance background

Preferred Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of commercial plumbing experience

Proposed Salary
$33,300 - $41,600
