OVERVIEW

The Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position as the Nursing Simulation Educator in the proposed newly established School of Nursing to provide leadership and support in the development and delivery of simulation-based education (SBE).

The Nursing Simulation Educator will collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and facilitate delivery of innovative simulation experiences to address whole person wellness, social determinants of health and health equity, role development and interprofessional collaboration, advocacy and systems change. The individual in this position will perform simulation course instruction, provide faculty development and training in the operation of simulation equipment and software, facilitate simulation experiences with faculty, staff and students, and maintain a compliant simulation lab environment that includes development of policies, procedures, and an operational budget.

The School of Nursing is committed to improving access to higher education for underrepresented students. We seek candidates with a history of and demonstrated commitment to supporting that effort through teaching and mentoring activities. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and commitment to expanding access to nursing education.

The Nursing Simulation Educator will be involved in building the simulation aspects of a new proposed nursing program, and will bring an innovative mindset and a passion for realizing the Morrison Family College of Health vision. We also seek candidates who will actively contribute to the University of St. Thomas commitment to excellence in teaching, which may include some of the following: active and student-centered approaches, inquiry-based teaching, and culturally-sustaining pedagogies. Commitment to maintaining inclusive and equitable experiences for students is expected.

The Nursing Simulation Educator will teach a variety of simulation-based experiences in pre-licensure nursing programs. The successful candidate is also expected to maintain an active research/scholarship agenda. All areas of nursing research/scholarship will be considered.
