The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences seeks an
experienced, talented instructional designer who wants to
contribute to a key strategic initiative in the School.
This is a professional staff position that requires a combination
of skills in instructional design, instructional technology,
faculty development, and project management. The person hired will
develop internal and external relationships. The candidate should
be familiar with best practices of online course development,
student engagement and deployment.
The instructional designer will consult with faculty about course
design and the development of materials for online and hybrid
delivery, analyze current online teaching practices, and provide
recommendations on teaching strategies and evaluation to improve
student learning experiences. Working with faculty and integrating
best practices in online learning, he/she will create course
development plans, edit course materials, and select appropriate
technologies for course development and teaching. An history of
experience building online learning objects using a variety of
authoring tools is necessary for the successful candidate.
The position requires strong project management skills to
prioritize the needs of faculty members, instructional
technologists, and video professionals.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in
Instructional Design or the equivalent, in addition to five years
of relevant experience in online learning, including higher
education experience. Experience and demonstrated competence in
working with learning management systems/online learning platforms,
Web conferencing tools, video post-production, and other multimedia
tools, as well as demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills are
necessary for success.
