The Batten College of Engineering and Technology’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the Academic Coordinator and Program Manager (full-time, 12 month) position. This position will coordinate and conduct advising of Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering students in curricular and academic matters. Other duties include: manage administrative tasks required to support the undergraduate programs, coordinate programs to enable student success, ensure students are in compliance with University requirements, and maintain permanent student records.

Required Education: Master’s degree in engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or other field of academic study. Prior certification from the University’s Master Advisor Program or the obtainment of the certification within one year of hire.

Required Qualifications: Considerable professional advising experience. Some prior experience developing and managing programs that promote student success. Working knowledge of computer engineering and electrical engineering curricula and general education requirements. Working knowledge of admissions process at a comprehensive university. Working knowledge of Virginia Community Colleges and the process to transfer to ODU. Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and web maintenance tools. Capable analytical skills. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Good interpersonal skills.
