POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Lecturer of Health Care Management (NOT Tenure Track)

Department: Management

Position: Full-time, Lecturer of Health Care Management. Specific background in one of the following fields (in order of preference): Healthcare Management, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management. This position is not a tenure track line.

Start Date: August 2021.

Duties: Teach 24 credit hours (onsite, off-site, and online) per academic year at the Undergraduate and/or Graduate levels; participate in department and college service activities.

Qualifications:   Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a closely related field to Health Care or Business; Evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness above the K-12 level in the fields of Health Care or Business.  

Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree in a closely related field to Health Care Management; experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives; experience teaching Health Care Management; ability to teach in multiple areas of Management such as Strategic Management and Human Resources Management; field experience in Health Care Management and/or scholarly activity; the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community; qualified to teach advanced courses.

Department/College: The MGT department employs 12 full-time faculty and offers coursework at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. Our department is housed within the Monte Ahuja College of Business. The college employs 70 full-time faculty members. All programs are AACSB accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Enrollment exceeds 2,700 students, and the degrees we offer include: DBA, MCIS, MBA, MLRHR, MAcc, BSCIS, BBA, and a joint MBA-JD.

University: Cleveland State University enrolls approximately 17,000 students and is located within walking distance of the Cleveland downtown business and entertainment centers. CSU has strong ties with the business and public sectors in Northeast Ohio.

Salary: Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable “clinical” instructor positions, but also commensurate with qualifications. Hiring is contingent upon maintaining existing levels of state funding.
