Old Dominion University (ODU) invites applications for a faculty position (rank commensurate with qualifications) in the Medical Laboratory Science Program of the School of Medical Diagnostic and Translational Sciences beginning July 25, 2021. This appointment can be Clinical track or Tenure track as appropriate for highly qualified applicants.  The School is housed in the College of Health Sciences, (https://www.odu.edu/hs) and includes undergraduate programs in medical laboratory science, cytotechnology and nuclear medicine technology as well as a postgraduate certificate program in molecular diagnostics and cytotechnology. The School’s faculty participate in PhD Programs for Graduate Biomedical Sciences, Health Services Research, and Biomedical Engineering,  and have set up and operate a high complexity CLIA-certified Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory; applicants whose research programs may utilize these resources are especially encouraged to apply. Qualifications include at minimum an appropriate masters-level degree and professional ASCP certification, as well as evidence of scholarship and/or research potential. Versatility among multiple clinical laboratory disciplines is desirable. Classroom teaching experience in NAACLS accredited programs and/or Clinical laboratory experience are preferred, as is a doctoral degree.
